ABOUT THE BAND

Straight out of Tokyo, Japan, Izmatik is an international progressive metal band founded in 2018 by bassist Jeff Curry. Rooted in progressive, sci-fi, and thrash metal, the band delivers a heavy, intricate sound that balances technical precision with raw aggression.

Blending elements of prog, thrash, and cinematic metal, Izmatik draws influence from bands such as Voivod, Rush, Dream Theater, Faith No More, King’s X, Opeth, Death Angel, and Anthrax, among many others. Their songs range from expansive, atmospheric compositions to blistering, high-energy assaults, with lyrical themes exploring dystopian futures, individual empowerment, and abstract concepts.

Izmatik first made waves with their debut EP Volt Vein, followed by the full-length album Mystery Step, which earned international attention and critical praise. They continued to build momentum with the singles Chaos Cocoon and Dauntless, leading to the release of their latest mini-album, Reversed Reality.

Heavy, cinematic, and relentlessly progressive, Reversed Reality stands as Izmatik’s boldest statement yet, pushing their sound further while staying true to the band’s uncompromising vision.

東京発のインターナショナル・プログレッシブ・メタル・バンド Izmatik（イズマティック）は、2018年にベーシストのジェフ・カリーによって結成された。プログレッシブ、SF的世界観、スラッシュ・メタルを軸に、重厚かつ緻密なサウンドを構築している。

Voivod、Rush、Dream Theater、Faith No More、King’s X、Opeth、Death Angel、Anthrax などから影響を受け、テクニカルでありながらも攻撃的、そして映像的な広がりを感じさせる楽曲が特徴。壮大でドラマティックな楽曲から、鋭く畳みかけるスラッシュ・ナンバーまで幅広く展開し、歌詞ではディストピア的未来像や自己の覚醒、抽象的なテーマを描いている。

デビューEP『Volt Vein』で注目を集め、その後リリースしたフルアルバム『Mystery Step』は国内外で高い評価を獲得。シングル『Chaos Cocoon』『Dauntless』を経て、最新ミニアルバム『Reversed Reality』をリリースした。

ヘヴィでシネマティック、そして容赦なくプログレッシブ。『Reversed Reality』は、Izmatikの現在地を示す最も大胆な作品である。
